About the General Directorate of Civil Protection
Contrary to popular belief, the DGPC’s responsibilities extend far beyond firefighting and responding to traffic accidents. Its operations encompass a wide range of challenges, including natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, locust invasions) and human-induced incidents (toxic gas leaks, hazardous material spills, transportation accidents, and environmental pollution).
The DGPC serves as a national entity tasked with reflection, research, study, consultation, and intervention to safeguard people and property under any circumstances. This mission is detailed in Article 36 of the decree on public administration personnel regulations.
Core Missions of the DGPC
The DGPC is structured under the Ministry of Interior and is tasked with responding to major natural and technological disasters as well as everyday emergencies. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting and rescuing victims of various incidents.
- Implementing safety measures during disasters to protect individuals and property.
- Combating fires and other hazards.
- Coordinating relief efforts during major disasters.
- Developing risk management strategies and conducting research on disaster mitigation.
- Supporting public and private institutions in accident prevention and preparedness.
- Raising public awareness about potential risks through education campaigns.
- Managing emergency plans and providing technical and legal recommendations to reduce risk impacts.
- Overseeing locust control in collaboration with relevant agencies.
Civil Protection Officer Cadet Recruitment Competition (40 Positions)
The DGPC invites applications for 40 cadet officer positions. The competition will commence on Monday, December 16, 2024, and successful candidates will join the National School of Civil Protection.
Eligibility Criteria
The competition is open to Moroccan male candidates meeting the following criteria:
- Age: Between 18 and 26 years as of January 1, 2024.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in one of the following fields:
- Economics and Management
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Life Sciences
- Earth and Space Sciences
- English Studies
- Public Law
- Private Law
- Height: Minimum of 1.70 meters.
- Health: Physically fit with no prior convictions.
Additionally, 15% of positions are reserved for current DGPC personnel who meet specific conditions, including eight years of service and a maximum age of 35 years.

Selection Process
Shortlisted candidates will undergo the following evaluations:
- Medical Examination
- Ensure physical fitness for DGPC duties.
- Required documents include:
- National ID card.
- Recent chest X-ray.
- Blood sugar test results.
- Medical certificate verifying absence of chronic illnesses or physical disabilities.
- Physical Tests
- Rope climbing (12.5 meters).
- 1,000-meter timed run.
- 100-meter freestyle swim.
- Written Examination
- General essay on legal, economic, managerial, social, scientific, or environmental topics.
- Text summarization and commentary.
- Arabic-to-French or French-to-Arabic translation.
- Oral Interview
- Candidates will discuss various topics related to their area of specialization.
- Psychotechnical Test
- Assesses candidates’ psychological readiness and abilities.
