Description:
Are you interested in volunteering for one year in Belgium? Do you want to enhance your social-cultural skills and develop as a trainer for various youth groups? If you’re eager to learn about group dynamics, promote a healthy lifestyle, enjoy going on camps with kids and youngsters, and are passionate about International Youth Work, we’re looking for you!
Key Details:
- Full-time volunteer work (4-5 days a week, approximately 30 hours weekly).
- Activities with social organizations, schools, local youth groups, and international youth work projects.
- Primarily in Belgium, with some international opportunities.
- Duration: August/September 2025 to August 2026.
Accommodation, Food, and Transport:
- Travel Costs: Covered up to a specified amount.
- Accommodation: Provided in Gent, shared with another ESC volunteer (individual rooms).
- Food Allowance: To support a basic lifestyle.
- Pocket Money: €6 per day (€180 per month).
- Insurance: Comprehensive coverage for work and free time during your stay.
Training During the Activity:
- Dutch lessons and interaction with the target group.
- Pre-departure guidance and ongoing training throughout the project.
- Mentorship by a former ESC participant.
- A Youth Pass certificate to enhance your resume.
Participant Profile:
- Age: Minimum 18, maximum 30 (preferred age 21+).
- Experience: Life experience is a plus, though younger applicants can still apply if they can demonstrate suitability.
- Skills: Knowledge of Dutch or a willingness to learn is an advantage.
- Attributes: Maturity, ability to work independently and in teams, commitment to youth work, and interest in promoting a healthy lifestyle.
